UAE Salary Breakdown Calculator

Split your monthly package into basic salary, housing, transport and other allowances, and see your daily and hourly wage. Your basic salary decides your gratuity, overtime and leave payout, so the split matters.

Frequently asked questions

Does the law say how much of my salary must be basic?expand_more

No. The law does not fix a split. Your contract sets the basic wage and any allowances. What the split changes is what you are paid in several situations, see below.

What does my basic salary affect?expand_more

Your end of service gratuity is calculated on your last basic wage (Article 51). Overtime is calculated on the basic wage (Article 19). Unused annual leave is paid out on your basic salary when you leave (Executive Regulations, Article 19). A lower basic salary means a lower amount in all three.

What uses my total salary instead?expand_more

The notice period allowance is based on the last wage you received, and the law defines wage as the basic wage plus cash allowances and benefits (Articles 1 and 43). Your monthly pay itself is, of course, the full amount.

What are typical splits?expand_more

Packages vary widely, and there is no legal standard. A common pattern is a basic salary of half to two thirds of the package, with housing and transport making up most of the rest. Always check the split in your contract before accepting an offer.

How are the daily and hourly wages worked out?expand_more

Daily wage is the monthly amount divided by 30. Hourly wage is the daily wage divided by the normal working hours in a day. The law does not spell out these divisors, so this is the usual convention.
